Outdoor Pursuits

While not all Americans participate in outdoor pursuits, they are important activities that connect people to wildlife and wild places. Hunting, Trapping, Fishing, Target Shooting, Boating, and Wildlife Watching are a gateway to the outdoors that connect people to nature, bring together families and communities, and encourage safe, responsible stewardship. Guided by science-based management through state and territorial fish and wildlife agencies, these outdoor pursuits are management tools for fish and wildlife populations and habitats, conserve species, and provides public outdoor access throughout the United States.
